Branch SAFEGUARDING POLICY & PROCEDURES
The Branch is committed to ensuring the safeguarding of children and adults at risk.
In order to comply with best practice the Branch has the facility to offer free Disclosure, Barring Service (DBS) checks to certain Branch band members where no other local arrangement is in place. For example a Band Safeguarding Officer, welfare escort and in particular a member volunteering to conduct one-to-one tuition and/or may have access to electronic links including videos and personal details of children is required to have an up-to-date DBS Certificate.
The Branch would offer to conduct an enhanced check that will be carried out by an approved service, ukcrbs, in conjunction with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) involving a search of police records.
